Title: "Kidnappers with covered faces 'branded' California mom, officials say"
Author: Paul Vercammen, CNN

I think just about everyone has heard about the Northern California mother who was found alive last week after a three week abduction. Officials are now saying that her abductors branded her, although they are not giving details as to what or where the mark is. The motive for the kidnapping is still unknown. For more information and updates i would recommend checking out this article.
This is an educational "E." People are learning what happened to the young women and are staying curious, they want answers just as much as the detectives do.

Daylight Saving Blues

Author: Ashley Strickland
Title: " Transitioning from daylight saving time could increase depression"

Who out there loves the time change? I think nobody. New studies show that the time change is causing people to get depression. Even though we just gained an hour of sleep (how nice) the loss of that extra sunshine at night makes people sad. If anyone out there is confused as to why we have day light savings click on the url above and watch the video, it gives a full explanation. The article is also worth the read, explaining different studies and reasons why daylight savings causes an increase of depression cases. This article is a education "E" it helps people understand and learn.

maybe some day

Title: " It's as healthy to eat bugs as it is to eat steak, study says"

In the United States it is not normal to eat bugs, but I guess it is starting to catch on. Insects are very high in protein and if you eat enough, they say its equivalent to eating meat. I know in other countries it is great to eat insects such as crickets and ants but I do not think I could replace a nice steak dinner with a bowl of fried bugs. Insects are an awesome alternative for meat and can save people from starving. Maybe some day in the future bugs are going to be considered our main food source, but until then I am going to keep on enjoying  my juicy steak. This piece is an educational "E"

Title: "'Gilmore Girls' trailer takes us back to Stars Hollow -- and it's as if we never left"

The hit show 'Gilmore Girls' ended a couple of years ago, but Netflix is making a sort of revival to the show. They are making 4, 90 minute episode so viewers can see what is going in the life of the girls and how they are doing. Personally, I am pretty excited about this being aired. I recently started watching the show and still need to catch up, but once i do, i know ill love it. This is for sure an entertainment "E".

Just a Little Surprise

Title: Snake Emerges From Hood of Man's Car on the NBC news  website reported by Melanie Michael from WFLA's

Rather than an article, I am doing my blog on a video. It is an interview and very short, but I still thought it interesting and deciding to give it a shot.

How terrified would you be if you were driving down the street and all of a sudden you see a snake slithering across your windshield? I know that I would be absolutely horrified! I am so scared of snakes I can barely look at a picture of one. Well this Florida native experienced just this. He was driving home and out came a snake from underneath his hood. He says he wasn't scared and actually very calm when he saw it, only reaching over to close his vents. He pulled out his camera and recorded it, like probably anyone would.

I would this is an entertainment "E." It is funny, but also kind of scary to think this could happen. If this happened to me, I would have probably wrecked my car because I am so scared of snakes.

A New Way of Living

http://www.cnn.com/2016/10/13/health/mcdonald-conjoined-twins-to-separate/index.html
Title: "New life, apart: Rare surgery to separate brothers conjoined at head"
Authors: Wayne Drash and Dr. Sanjay Gupta
Anias and Jadon McDonald were born conjoined at the head a little over a year ago. Their parents love them just the way they are, but would like for them to have a normal childhood, so they have decided to have them go through surgery to disconnect them. Coming to this conclusion was very difficult for them, they wondered if it was worth dis-conjoining them if it meant there was a possibility one, or both, of them would not make it out alive. Friends, family, and doctors have reassured them that they are making the right decision for their sons, so they went ahead and allowed the surgery early on Thursday morning. Once the boys come out of recovery they will have a long road ahead of the. They go back to acting like one month old, they have to relearn how to do everything from sitting, playing, and even sleeping on their own. They have endured the grueling ten hour surgery and are not in recovery.
The "E" I see in this piece is education. I cannot imagine having to go through what these people are. I hope everything works out for them and I wish them the best. This story is worth the read, so you guys should look it over. These boys are a miracle.

Hurricane Matthew

http://www.cnn.com/2016/10/06/us/hurricane-matthew-florida-sc-georgia-reports/index.html

Author: Mallory Simon, CNN
Title: "What it's Like in Hurricane Matthew's Path"

Everybody has heard about this devastating storm. It has now made its way to the east coast. Florida natives are quickly fleeing for their safety. Stores along the boardwalk of Daytona Beach specifically have been boarded up in preparation for the rising waters and strong winds. While some are leaving the coast, others are staying put to protect their homes, businesses, and lands. In my opinion, I don't really know why a person would choose to stay in a place where danger is evident and headed their way. Whatever happens is up to mother nature, and nothing you do will stop it from coming.
This is an example of the educational "E" they are informing the generals about what is happening with the deadly hurricane. Also, they are giving specific details of people and places. Sending prayers for the people who have been effected by this storm, and hoping it is over soon.

I Need to Get Home

http://www.mid-day.com/articles/woman-misses-bus-steals-ambulance-to-get-home/17547154

Author: Mid.day.com (author not listed)
Title: "Women misses bus, steals ambulance to get home"

Yes this happened in Ohio. Lisa Carr, who is 43 years old mind you, felt the need to steal a vacant, running ambulance after she missed her bus to get home. The diver of the ambulance was taking someone into the hospital when the incident took place. The police found her at her home.
What in the world did i just read? In what world did she think this would be okay to do? When the police found her all she had to say was that she missed her bus home.

I find this piece not only an education "E" but an entertainment "E" as well. Not only does this inform people that it is not okay to take an ambulance for a joy ride home, but it is also comical because who in their right mind could think they could get away with this.

Mysterious Tweet

http://www.whio.com/news/crime--law/prowler-caught-without-pants-atlanta-police-chase-break-suspects/B02YPf2uUFX0j1OPdueeXN/

Title: "Mysterious tweet appears on woman’s Twitter account a day after she was murdered"

Published ByCox Media Group National Content Desk

Just days after being released from jail for stalking someone, 30-year old Charles Dean Bryant was arrested for the murder of a 24-year old college student. Police found Jacqueline Vandagriff's dismembered body on Wednesday after fire-fighters extinguished a nearby fire. Bryant and Vandagriff were seen on a date the night of the murder and video evidence showed Bryant purchasing a shovel from a local Walmart. Perhaps the most peculiar thing with this story is the fact that the day after her death, Vandagriff supposedly tweeted "Never knew I could feel like this." Police are currently investigating the situation and looking more closely into Bryant's intent to do such a thing.
Honestly, I think the dude is just absolutely insane. I mean he took this poor girl out, dismembered her, then proceeded to wrap her in a child's pool then set it on fire. The E used in this piece is most definitely emotion and education. Beware of who you are going on a date with ladies (and guys) because you might just end up with a complete nut job, who might just be crazy enough to post a post-mortem status on your behalf.

12 Year Old Winner

http://www.cnn.com/2016/09/15/entertainment/americas-got-talent-winner/index.html

Author: Lisa Respers France, CNN
Title of piece:"'America's Got Talent' crowns Grace VanderWaal as winner"

This is an easy going, fun piece. Grace VanderWaal is a twelve year old girl who just won 'America's Got Talent' Wednesday night. she is singer and a song writer, has been since a mere three years old. Nobody was at all surprised by the announcement Grace was the winner because she was pegged as an immediate star and 'the next Taylor Swift.' She received an award of one million dollars and a show in Las Vegas. I would class this as an entertainment 'E'. It is a light-hearted and exciting to read. Viewers are so happy for little miss VanderWaal. I could spend all night listening to this kid sing, she is amazing and totally deserves this win.

20 Years Missing

http://www.cnn.com/2016/09/07/us/missing-cal-poly-student/

Twenty years ago,  May 25, 1996 to be exact, 19 year old Kristin Smart went missing walking to her college dorm room. When she went missing, she had nothing with her besides the clothes on her back. Her partents, detectives, and the community continued their search for the young girl for many years. Finally, in 2002 investigators officially declared Kristin dead. They had no more leads to follow and decided it was time.
In recent time, investigators think they may have gotten a new break in the case. They are starting an excavation for her remains on campus grounds. The community is hopeful, but realistic in knowing that this may also be a dead end.
In a recent interview with Smart's parents, they relay that they can really use the closure that comes with burying a loved one, because when you have a mising loved one you never know and don't have the ability to move on in the same way.

One of the 4 E's I took notice of, is emotion. Knowing that her parents want the closure they deserve and may never have it is heartbreaking. Also knowing that whoever did this to the young girl and her family will most likely get away with it is sickening.

I hope there is justice for Kristin and her family, along with community.
